Child Care & Early Education

Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) & CDA — Staff Credential Prep

A complete study-prep course for the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) and the national Child Development Associate (CDA). The FCCPC is a DCF-approved credential that Florida recognizes as meeting or exceeding the national CDA. Both are built on the same framework: six Competency Standards, 13 Functional Areas, and eight CDA Subject Areas, and both require 120 hours of formal training, 480 hours of documented work experience with children, and one professional observation, and renew every 5 years. This course teaches all six competencies in plain language with tables, real examples, and exam traps: establishing a safe, healthy learning environment (Safe, Healthy, Learning Environment); advancing physical and intellectual competence (Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative); supporting social and emotional development and positive guidance (Self, Social, Guidance); building productive relationships with families (Families); running a purposeful, well-managed program (Program Management); and maintaining a commitment to professionalism (Professionalism), including the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, confidentiality, and mandated reporting. It also covers age-group specializations (Infant/Toddler vs Preschool and Family Child Care) and how to build the Professional Resource File, write the six Reflective Statements of Competence, gather Family Questionnaires, and prepare for the verification/observation visit and the exam. Every lesson has a knowledge check, each domain has a randomized mastery check, and the course ends with a full-length 90-question mock exam and a spaced-repetition flashcard deck of high-yield facts. This is study prep. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Florida DCF or the Council for Professional Recognition; does not replace the official FCCPC/CDA coursework, the professional portfolio, the required work experience, or the verification/observation visit.
