A complete study-prep course for Florida child care professionals working toward the state Child Care Facility Director Credential. Florida requires every licensed child care facility and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program to employ at least one person who holds a Director Credential, renewed every 5 years. The credential builds on a staff credential (the Child Development Associate, CDA, or the Florida Child Care Professional Credential, FCCPC) and requires the 30-hour Part I DCF Introductory Child Care Training, 8 hours of in-service on children with disabilities, and completion of an approved 'Overview of Child Care Management' course (a director credential from another state may substitute for that course); the Advanced Director Credential adds further coursework. This course maps the full body of knowledge a Florida director is expected to command: program operations and licensing compliance under Rule 65C-22, Florida Administrative Code (inspections, policies, records, health and safety, staff-to-child ratios, and emergency/disaster planning); financial management (budgeting, tuition and fee setting, payroll, cash flow, and funding sources such as School Readiness and VPK through the Early Learning Coalitions); human resources and staff leadership (recruitment, Level 2 background screening, training and in-service tracking, supervision, evaluation, and retention); leadership, ethics, and program quality (leadership styles, the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct for administrators, continuous quality improvement, accreditation and Quality Rating such as Gold Seal/QRIS, and developmentally appropriate practice); family and community engagement and marketing; and inclusion of children with disabilities aligned to the 8-hour in-service (ADA, Section 504, IDEA Part C/Part B, IFSP/IEP support, and accommodations). Every domain has plain-language lessons, comparison tables, exam traps, a knowledge check, and a randomized mastery check, ending with a 60-question mock and a spaced-repetition flashcard deck of high-yield facts. This is study preparation only. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and it does not replace the official Director Credential coursework or requirements; always verify current requirements with DCF and your local Early Learning Coalition.
